    Ami Pro. Best word processor ever. Why did I stop using it? I had to support Word For Windows documents because the clients believed the MS BS. :sigh:

    I once came across a spreadsheet tool that was way better than Excel. It had infinite rows and columns and you can do multi-freezed rows so that one section stayed on top until the next section was in view to replace it. I couldn't remember where I saw that though.

      Gedea and Encarta. The old times of Encyclopaedias on CD, when there was no Internet connection at all (the existing services costed about a quarter of the average monthly wage for 64kbps ISDN or 1€/minute for 56k PSTN) nor wikipedia or similar.

            Thinking about it, there were loads of 'em back in the DOS days: "BRIEF - the Programmer's Editor", "XTree Gold", "Norton Utilities" (before they were sold to Symantec), "MASM", ... all damn good.

              Oh YES! BRIEF was great. I liked PC Tools, it allowed me to have multiple desktops inside Windows for WorkGroups.

                              It did; it came with ms-paint. The reason those picture-viewers became so popular was "hands free slide shows".

                                      WS FTP Pro - 16 bit version. When it became too much trouble to get it to run, I tried a few other FTP programs but found none that I liked. In the end I wrote my own. :)
