Apologies if this is a repost. This page demonstrates just how vast space is in general and how far apart are planets in our solar system from each other, and from the sun. We've all seen pictures of the solar system, but this is a more accurate portrayal of it, and it assumes that the moon were just 1 pixel. Enjoy: A tediously accurate map of the solar system[^].

If you play KSP you get a feeling for those distances, while you are able to reach the moon with in hours and do a roundtrip within a day (easily), the mars is a lot longer trip where you either have to skip forward with highspeed or just fly thousands of moon missions meanwhile :)

I can't say nothing about accuracy, but really nice... You got the feeling... I will sit with the kids on this today...

If you lost them in the space between here and Uranus you probably wouldn't be able to. :wtf:

                    Douglas Adams:

Space is big. You just won't believe how vastly, hugely, mind- bogglingly big it is. I mean, you may think it's a long way down the road to the chemist's, but that's just peanuts to space.
