Yeah, I don't think they will start a war with the US. But they will certainly stop buying any crap from there starting yesterday.

Neither do I - that would just be dumb. I was commenting on your implication that if the US left the EU to take care of itself and they befriended Russia there would be "less war, more love". History tells us the opposite.

It would be unfortunate but I'd prefer a trade war with the EU rather than continued lopsided US military expenditures (both lives and $) in their defense. Can you offer even a single rational reason why Europe shouldn't defend themselves?

How? As far as I saw the US stayed well out of it.
We helped instigate it. Nothing bad happens in the middle east without US involvement.

US lives expenditures defending the EU hellooooooo :) I don't think the EU will pay any US demands. If anything they may ask the US to pack and leave. We will see. Interesting times.

Nope, I've got nothing, zilch, zero, nill. Europe should put together a sizeable army, invest in their own military technologies and stop buying anything from the US.
