If a criminal is locked up he isn't able to commit crimes, thus the decrease.

First part of your argumentation is incorrect. You can commit crimes while being locked up. You are also assuming that crimes are mostly committed by repeating criminals.

It just means that police forces are better at jailing criminals before they can commit a relevant number of crimes.

..we simply shipped our criminals to the US.

I think it has enough torque to do that. :)

Why waste the gas. There are a lot of jails here where if you time it right, you can walk right out the front door.

The Dutch have already built one wall; all <you know who> needs to do is to flood Belgium and Germany, and they'll build the others themselves.

Hello. This is no fun but I wonder if there is a public web-searchable - or other "inquire-able" - way to find out if a person has been incarcerated in the state of New York. And if he/she is not, could such inquiries/searches get this person into any trouble? A person dear to me, across the Atlantic, has vanished from the face of the earth. Thanks a bunch.

huh? am I missing something here? Is this person a career criminal? So much so, that you fear they are in jail?

I fear several different things. Only one of them could be, and has been, settled here.

You're dating Hillary? Wait, I'm confused. ;P Well, I see the lounge has gone off on the typical HILARIOUS tangent, but no, you cannot get in trouble for inquiring about someone. I'm sure there are more than just the State of NY's incarceration web site to help you out. Enable your google fu.
