So I'm trying to get some Web Development training. The Microsoft Virtual Academy has a course called "HTML5 & CSS3 Fundamentals: Development for Absolute Beginners". Anyone think this is the right way to go? I'd prefer an interactive course where I can talk to the instructor and classmates, but if others here think these classes are worth it I'd like to hear from you. Thanks

If it's not broken, fix it until it is. Everything makes sense in someone's mind. Ya can't fix stupid.

https://www.w3schools.com/[^] This worked for me and is not Microsloth centric. For example - I went to javaScript and php; MS would certainly point you to ASP.Net
The tutorials have "try it"'s all over the place, most of which you can modify and try again. Great learning tool.

If you are interested in Front-End development. I'd recommend you study the Front-End Developer Handbook 2017. It has alot of information and points to some good resources.

Cute... What Google DOESN'T tell you is what the developers in HERE think... Which is why I asked here.

I found these online courses to be pretty useful. Part 1[^] Part 2[^] With the knowledge learnt in those courses, I could write these articles - one[^] and two[^]. Professor Michel Buffa teaches very well.

But it is wise to seek out the experience of others rather than repeat their errors via your lack of insight. This is why we have forums like this to share experience of those who have 'been there'.

Actually Pluralsight does have a mentoring program with 1-to-1 expert help. [Learn More, Faster with our Live Mentors | Pluralsight](https://www.pluralsight.com/product/mentoring)

I have had some good mileage from Codecademy[^] and Free Code Camp[^] I used both sites to brush up on new concepts such as CSS, LESS and the like - they focus on building an application which helps with relevance and context - the plain Javascript stuff was helpful. Have a ball and welcome to the dark side where everything changes by the second and opinions are everywhere!
