What kind of spam protection are you using? I'm receiving tons of junk everyday, and I believe someone here should have a good solution for this. Please share your thoughts (and solutions).

I have been using MailWasher form fireturst for about a month and am satisfied with it. It does require intervention, you launch it, do a quick review of the headings with known span already highlighted, Press proccess and then it launches your mail program. http://www.firetrust.com/ It deletes the mail from the server and sends an account unknown message back to the sender. The amount of spam has dramatically decreased for me. If I could only put something on my work machine. To date I have not found an auto one that did not delete 20% fo my real mail. You might hate my answer, but I'm just extremely protective of my e-mail address. CodeProject and the DevelopMentor mailing lists are the only companies (that I remember) that have my true e-mail address. Family have it and its on my business cards. If I sign up for anything they get spammail@takklesoft.com and if I really expect/suspect to get added to spam lists they get my hotmail address. So far it works, since I've had the takklesoft.com domain my primary e-mail account has only received 3 pieces of spam; my spammail account has only received 2. Everything else in the spammail account is advertising newsletters from other (developer-oriented) companies. James "It is self repeating, of unknown pattern" Data - Star Trek: The Next Generation

eeeewwww... just had a vision of a mal-content gelatinous ooze of pork beef meat-product coming after me. X| It's never really bothered me too much, but I find I can keep a can of it at bay for a while with a loaf of bread. I wrote my own email client and added some excellent hand-crafted spam filters. :-D

Mebbe. I'd love to share the entire mail project but I don't think my boss would be too impressed!
