In India, we call it "Saunf" (pronounced as sɔː̃ f). Usually used as a mouth freshener after meals along with some sugar.
I am not the one who knocks. I never knock. In fact, I hate knocking. Just barge in will'Ya?
I love Fennel - I've got some growing in my garden. It's amazing how much stronger the taste is from the shop-bought stuff, even just a small frond gives a good hit of anise flavour :-).
