Hackers compromised free CCleaner software, Avast's Piriform says[^]

    Quote:

It said the server was closed down on Sept. 15 "before any known harm was done".

Before any known harm was done? Are you serious? CCleaner is one of my favorites! Fortunately I am running version 5.34.XXX which is later then the compromised version 5.33.

Get me coffee and no one gets hurt!

Open RegEdit. Look for a couple of old hives. Select. Delete. Wait for bluescreen. Redo Windows. Easy Peasy. :wtf: :wtf: WARNING: Taking the above actions may lead to irretrievable loss of all your data.
