That feature would be better if the tire sensors were not first sensors to fail (and costs $180+ to replace).

One thing the mechanic told me when he was replacing the wheel was "Don't use the quick tyre inflation fix tool!" as it will fill the tyre with gunk and require the tyre sensor to be replaced. So not only do I not get a spare tyre but if I use the kit that is meant to reinflate the tyre I also have to fork out a large quantity in dosh to replace the sensor too - that's a definite fail on the p[art of the manufacturer.

Yeah, I've always felt hankies are mainly for show. If you actually use them a few times, it's just a bacterial container.

I just noticed recently that when a box of Kleenex is near empty, the color of tissue changes to peach to remind users that it is time to buy a new box. What a smart idea. Do you know any other examples like this?

Simple Human[^] liners do something similar. When you're getting low in the pack there's a sticky note / tag on of the bags to remind to get some more. It's catchy.

My car has a flat tyre warning. I saw it one day and drove in to work wondering what the hell that light meant. When I got in to work I read the manual, then I looked at the tyre and realised the significance of the light. These sorts of things are only useful if you know what they mean. No I am not going to read the whole of my car manual - I simply don't have the time.

Hopefully you'll never have to replace the damn sensor. It turns out to be some self-contained wifi thing that communicates with your car's computer. Mine broke, factory fresh they're like $600, not including the cost of getting the stupid computer to recognize the device. Sometimes the cost of technology outweighs the simpler task of walking around the car every morning and visually inspecting the tires. And what's worse, is now, whenever I get to 60 or 65 MPH, the stupid computer loses the connection for some reason and the low pressure indicator starts flashing then goes steadily on. So the end result? Money spent to ignore and idiot light. Who's the idiot, eh? ;)

I'm still waiting for a refrigerator that can tell me I'm low on something and to make a grocery list for me, email it to the store, and either have the bag waiting to be picked up or have it delivered at home. Now THAT would be useful tech. :sigh:

Exactly! ...and that's a huge bill! I park my car every evening so that I have to walk around it looking at the tyres before I drive off. The day the light came on, I had looked at the tyres beforehand - so the one positive side is that the gauge does detect a slow puncture. The false positive on the light sounds like a real pain.

Apology if someone already mentioned this but... Soda cans are designed to make the loudest noise possible when you pull the tab, in order to get the attention of others and suggest to them that it's time to get a soda for themselves.

I like them. I'm not too too much into designer stuff, but having trash bags that just fit the can is awesome. No more having to tie off overly large trash bags to fit the can.

The little red "oil" light on a car I once had. Came on to tell me that the engine had just burnt up and was quitting. It was right.
