.. if I was head of the Aussie cricket board, I'd ban Smith for life. Cheating is bad enough, but what's really bad, IMO, is that he got the young rookie on the team to do it, thereby tarnishing his reputation and career. Anyone that unethical and downright stupid should not be playing cricket for his country, and certainly not as their captain.

He made noises about continuing as captain - not going to happen, he'll be bloody lucky if he can get a game in the local derby (Sheffield Shield). I think you will find every sponsor will hang him out to dry and will force CA to dump him. However it sounds like the entire group of senior players were involved so we may be fielding a much younger team next test.

Rubbish. He should be severely beaten with a shoe for being stupid enough to use a piece a yellow tape (I reckon it was sandpaper). Surely you would use clear sticky tape so it didn't show up on camera so easily.

That is what Smith said, but inm an article where Gillespie has lambasted them he has stated that at least one senior player has stated he was not a part in any of this and is quite pissed off to be tainted even if by insinuation. I can't believe he didn't take the blame solely himself once they were caught and can't believe he had Bancroft in the press conference to begin with, let alone throw him under the bus to explain things first.

What he did to Bancroft is unforgivable, not what you expect from a captain and a leader. And I don't even like the silly game! Don't mind the big bash but 5 days is just silly.

Yes - that's what really pissed me off most :- hanging the rookie out to dry. Truly shameful behaviour.

Just about any news outlet's "sports" section is carrying this story - here's the latest from the Beeb[^] - I'm sure you can Google others.
