This is a hoax, a joke publication. The author should be stripped of all credentials, then stripped, tarred, feathered and paraded through the streets of Sonoma. Edit: Oh I see he wrote that it is a parody. Well, it's not funny and California will lose the most from a warming climate. We here in Canada may benefit from a degree or two higher, California definitely not.

Not entirely, the careless misuse of statistical methods is more common than it should be in serious science. (Econometrics, Engineering, Medicine, ... Meh! Who cares? But Climatology? That really matters!)
