Obviously the solution is to follow the lead of the police in Dubai! They had to purchase super/hyper cars to keep up with the rich kids driving them over there

Getting the cops faster cars is just asking for trouble. The solution is much simpler, given that no car can outrun a radio. Decades ago police gave chase to a speeding idiot inside city limits where I live. And by city, I mean a small town of less than 10,000 at the time--this didn't take place on a 4-lane highway, but main street. It ended with a dead pedestrian--incidentally the mayor's nephew. It didn't take long before the rulebook on police pursuits were changed in Ontario.

On the other hand, my little car can't go 150 mph, but 135 is quite possible and I occasionly really enjoy blowing the dirt out of the motor. Am I now a selfish nut job as well?

Is it time to consider arming the police with [these](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shoulder-fired\_missile)?

My only experience with weapons is using an M-1 carbine on a firing range (in the civil guard in Israel). Even there, my score was terrible. :(

Before anyone suggests that it was my car, keep in mind that a) I live in Texas, b) my car is white, and c) my car is much faster.

It may have been some time since I last practiced with such a weapon, but believe me, hitting a fast car would be a stroke of luck.

Not at all. Granted the window of opportunity would be open for much less time, but a skilled marksman could easily hit anything that big. Hitting the driver himself would be harder, but still possible.

With a rifle? Sure. But not with any sort of unguided anti tank rocket. Shooting the rocket straight at the approaching car could work, but you get only one try.

If you have that DeLorean, you won't be able to reach 150mph without running into...lets call them "side-effects"...before you even get there.

I got 125 mph out of one at midnight on the Tampa freeway once. My main problem was when the street lights stopped. Suddenly, absolute total darkness. Still the new pants were cheaper to buy in the US.

In the Netherlands there’s a website http://bestwelsnel.nl/ with measured speeds on the road. “uitleg” = help. Its Dutch but I am sure you can find a translator. Measurements are done by “inductions loops” in the asphalt, 24000 of them throughout the country. Green = bevestigd = confirmed (within 1 minute, within 5km, a second measurement > 170kmh) Gray = onbevestigd = unconfirmed Red = maximum (as of 2013-12-31) or dagmax (maximum of the day) The Netherlands is not that big, if you watch this website, it looks like a formula 1 circuit. Take a look and see for yourself how much idiots we have over here

Before anyone suggests that it was my car, keep in mind that a) I live in Texas, b) my car is white, and c) my car is much faster.
