How long did this take?
-
Designing the parts in Blender only took a few hours, but fitting the mounts to the fuselage took quite a few tries and three hours printing for each try. The good thing is that I also had the opportunity to experiment with the printer settings and to add more details, so the overall result is much better. Now I finally got the weapons installed and took some pictures at first daylight this morning. It's not the red soil of Vietnam, only the red garden table behind the house, but finally the building part is coming to an end. Soon I can get some paint on that thing and then a maiden flight is within reach. Kilgore, get that tape ready![^] Edit: After giving the nose and the cockpit windows a facelift, this thing is begging for a detailed cockpit and pilots. I have already printed one, but fortunately I can finish the exterior and still add the cockpit later. Building really is almost done for now. Let the painting begin...
I have lived with several Zen masters - all of them were cats. His last invention was an evil Lasagna. It didn't kill anyone, and it actually tasted pretty good.

What? No sanding?

Plenty of filling and sanding already. Just look at the nose. Also too bad you can't see all the rows of rivets I made at this resolution.

Since I always fly on a pasture, it's going to be 'Apocalypse Cow'.

Abd, of course, 'Cattle don't surf!' I could print a surfboard, but it would not fit onto the skids because of the rocket launchers. Look at the movie and you will see that the slicks had the surboards, not the gunships.
