A tip: convert them to JPG, 100% quality or GIF and save 2Mb RAM. My latest article: GBVB - Converting VB.NET code to C#

But when nhaving them as GIF or JPG, you need active desktop enabled, which is probably much more of a performance killer than yucky 2MB of RAM. (You DO have 1G, don't you? ;P)

A tip: convert them to JPG, 100% quality or GIF and save 2Mb RAM. How so? They're already over-compressed JPGs. For many of them, I hesitated to compress them even that much, as you lose too much quality, but it was a quality/bandwidth tradeoff. Thanks. Pete http://www.irritatedVowel.com

Really? I'll have to come up with a better one. Which C# wallpaper was it that disappointed? I'd hate to shaft the C# folks, since I'm one myself :) If you have a color/whatever suggestion, let me know Thanks Pete http://www.irritatedVowel.com

I'd hate to shaft the C# folks, since I'm one myself Well first off I would like to apologise, I spoke in haste it seems. I only noticed the C# With Code wallpaper at first and thought it was rather bland compared to the others which are really quite good. Only after a second look do I see the Laser Whips and 'nuff said images are also for c#. When I first looked I thought they were for C and C++. :-O (Plus I actually thought they were made by Microsoft so my scorn was unchecked!) The laser whips one is actually quite awesome, it is on my background now (with Bob in the bottom right corner :-D ), thanks. How did you do those Laser Whip effects? Very cool. The C# With Code is blander than the other two. Maybe just for that shot you can invert the colours of the code (it is mainly the graduated grey that is bland), it will then contrast a lot better with the cool C# logo bit. Once again my apologies, really did not mean to offend you, I really thought they were by Microsoft at first and I was feeling petulent towards MS at the time :-O

Paul Watson wrote: Once again my apologies, really did not mean to offend you You most definitely didn't offend, I was just looking for ideas :) One of the programs I use to make the fracts is ktaza. You can manipulate all sorts of fractal parameters including the function, blending and colors. Then you zoom in/zoom out etc. It's a nice program. Thanks for the ideas!
