Sometime back, someone posted a post about paying taxes here in Lounge but i'm not able to find it using the search functionality & i needed its direct link. The post contained the below text:
Society comes at a cost, and things need paying for, one way or another. If not through taxes, then through increased prices and insurance.
Who pays for the roads that transport goods from farms and factories to the shops, and on which you drive from your house to go and buy? Either the government or a private company – either way, they’re going to want paying. Same for schools, hospitals, etc etc.

That's only one way to see it. When my ancestors heard that the Romans were coming to bring them civilisation and taxes, they thought that this was some form of collective slavery. They destroyed three Roman legions to prove the point.
I have lived with several Zen masters - all of them were cats. His last invention was an evil Lasagna. It didn't kill anyone, and it actually tasted pretty good.

When you use the search box at the top of a forum, it only searches within that forum. Unfortunately, the message you were looking for was in the Soapbox, not the Lounge. Go to the Search Page, click on Forum Messages, and enter
