It's 28C\82F, and over winter we had at least an inch of snow. It's no wonder the country constantly grinds to a halt! No country could function under such extreme conditions!

28C? At top of the day?! We have it at night too. Just now it is about 32C and I do not even turn on AC...

About 30C here, according to my IR temp gauge. My Sous Vide says the kitchen is at about 23C, which feels right. I'm not complaining! It's nice to be a shirtsleeves instead of a wetsuit... ;) OH: to anyone thinking of driving a caravan to Wales for the weekend: it's snowing. Hard. Very, very Hard. And raining sharks. With frickin lasers on their heads.

You can tell when it's an unusually hot day in Wales because the rain is warmer than usual!

My brother lives on the border in Herefordshire and his garden temperature gauge showed 40C in the shade two days ago. He probably took his jacket off.

Hi All, Time for a moan, in the UK it's reasonably warm. So things start to go wrong, the M5 motorway which is breaking up is resurfaced, but the temperature for the Tar to set is too high so it doesn't. Rail transport my favoured mode of commuting (I'm not a great driver!) gets odd due to it being too hot(?) for some of the trains, rails buckle. Wild fires in the North. Lack of CO2 for Beer, Famine, Pestilence ... just to make you all worried. :wtf:

Rail transport? I think I vaguely remember something like that. Southern Rail / GTR don't need a heatwave to get "odd".

And with England playing tonight, the inescapable phrase tomorrow will be "cancelled due to a shortage of train crew".

Tomorrow, I'd be surprised if they had enough staff working to make the announcement that all trains are cancelled due to lack of staff.

You can't keep them out that easily, they and the rest of us know what a beautiful part of this island Wales is, even laser wielding sharks can't keep us foreigners out. :-)

It is time to quote Bill Bryson: The road to Little Dribbling: Measured by decent music, old stony buildings, varieties of boiled sweets and reasons for not going to work because of the weather, Britain is number one by a very large margin.
