Here it's long weekend. Today is Victoria Day. I don't understand why Canada still kisses Queen's butt.. :| [EDIT] I hate dislike the Queen and her monarchy.. Huh. ok, so i know nothing about Canadian history, but it sounds reasonable to me...

And anyway, I'm glad they were here. And left at just the right time. The Brits are the reason the country you are living in is called India, and not Vijaynagar for example, and I'm in India too, and not in "Bong" for example, and so on. They are the reason why we are both from the same country. They are the reason why we have trains, post office, a modern education system that kicks ass, and can speak English, for example. The reason why so many Indians get so many jobs overseas is that we can speak English well. I was going to say that Canada and Australia slowly gained autonomy from England, whereas India, Pakistan, and the US fought against England to get their independence. So, the US and Canada are both examples of colonists who became independent, but the US doesn't "respect" the monarchy. So, I think the critical difference is whether or not the countries rebelled against the monarchy. All of this raises questions about cause and effect (did the US revolt because they didn't like the monarchy, or did the US come to dislike the monarchy because they were fighting against it to gain independence, or did the US smother respect for the monarchy because it would compromise the fight for independence?) ------------------------------------------ "What happened in that Rhode Island club is shocking.
