Android phones have this extra great smart feature - Audio interception. You listen to a good Audio/Video and some spam mail hits your inbox and trigger a notification. The phone OS very intelligently cuts down your A/V audio for a moment & plays this utterly useless audio notification and then continues with the actual A/V you were watching. I should say, This is one of the most irritating, un-user-friendly feature ever made. Is there a way we could put this feature to sleep permanently?

I just humbly wonder: "Disable audio notifications" completely? Or must you hear them when not playing audio?

Yes. When I'm not watching, I want to hear the audio notifications as usual. In other words, I just want Android to just do what it was doing before. May be pre-lolipop days. Audio notifications never used to overlap/intercept. Only the active App used to own the Audio completely.

It seems some apps are able to continue unperturbed by notification. Not the way it should be but... How to stop notification sounds from interrupting music? - Android Forums at AndroidCentral.com[^] "I came here with the same problem. I do know that this is not an issue when I use the default Google Play Music app."

They decide it for us. I really dislike this over smart / over engineering companies do.

Just edit your email notifications to not make any sound. I do that with all notifications besides texts/phone calls. It's helpful to me to be able to hear that I got a text message when I'm listening to music or something.

                  That "solution" was already discussed.

That does not sound like an Android thing, but more of an app thing. If you have a locked phone, my second guess would be your carrier's adaptation of whatever version of Android you are using.
