      But in that time, aircraft went from the Wright brothers to passenger jets. And our spacecraft are still at the Charles Lindbergh stage ... :sigh:

            Not by that much (well, when compared to spacecraft). Isn't the generally accepted date somewhere around '69?

              If only we really had found and reverse engineered alien spacecraft in 1947 (Roswell) - we'd be much farther out there... maybe...

                AWS lambdas can now run for 15 minutes (previously maxed out at 5 mins), so there's that. :-D

                  Dunno if reverse engineering a crashed spacecraft really helps a lot, except if building one that crashes as well :-D Maybe that's why we're not that far with these things, we just kept reverse engineering crashed alien crafts without trying to alter out the bugs present in their design (there must be bugs - they crashed onto earth, after all).

                  I only have a signature in order to let @DalekDave follow my posts.
