We were just told that we may not be able to include whitespace in our code... because it's not inclusive enough.

It reminds me of houses in the US. The main bedroom is no longer being called the master bedroom but is now being called the owner's suite.

How about server and client? Doesn't that imply a degrading inequality? The server is supposed to bow the client's requests or else.
"Server" implies that it can handle many clients. A master usually has limited slaves. So no, they're not exchangeable.

Roughly 20 years ago I was tasked with cleaning up / maintaining my company's AT&T telephone switch configuration. I needed to buy a special AT&T terminal communication card and application for a connected PC. An AT&T rep came to train me on it's use. On the configuration screens - after changes were made - you had to issue a "Submit" command to send the requested change to the switch. Pretty normal stuff. The AT&T rep (a woman and an early SJW) complained at least a dozen times during the hour long training session about how the programmers must be men because they always want women to "submit".

You don't? It's called troubleshooting for a reason.

Actually, white people pretending to be black has been determined to be racist. So, John is not allowed to have a dark theme with any of his software, etc, since he is white. Same goes for me. :sigh:

No, when using SSMS you are actually identifying yourself as a smurf. I believe the color is dark blue, so you are identifying yourself as a black smurf. This is alright, because as long as you are "identifying" yourself as something you are clearly not, you are Ok, and will not be placed on the special train.

Ah, but he is not the spacing in his code. Did you just assume his IDE background's color!?
