If dentists make their money from people with bad teeth, why do we buy toothpaste that is "recommended by dentists"?

How about this: Do you know you have bad teeth? Who do you trust? I mean if it is has cavities or hurt then it is obvious. Sometime my dentist just schedule me for a crown because some of my teeth are spaced too far apart. Or claims that it has cavity, but it looks normal on the x-ray.

I have perfect teeth. I see a dentist and a dental hygienist 2 times a year, and I pay the dentist $$ to look at my perfect teeth after the friendly hygienist cleans them. Dentist really doesn't do shit here in this story. toothpaste is involved in the lengthy process. Just saying...

Funny, read an article where the ADA cannot validate why we're supposed to go to the dentist 2x a year. Floss, don't eat candy, DO NOT CHEW ICE. I consistently read on my local neighborhood group where dentist A says 3 cavities, dentist B can't find any. I used to think the medical and dental professions were sacrosanct; I'm no longer certain.

I have been seeing the same dentist for over 15 years now. I have had braces in the past, so my teeth and my bite are still good to go there. I don't know what to tell you. I floss and I do not chew ice. I do have some candy every now and then, but not much other sweets. I brush my teeth twice a day, so the candy is not really an issue. Common sense?

If you earn your money by solving computer problems, why should I trust you to fix my PC? :)
