Given we're talking about a MS product...various shades of deep red, depending on your current blood pressure.

Hopefully Microsoft will take you up on your offer since they definitely need a lot of training. I find a new bug just about every week and this week was no exception.

Seriously? :omg: :omg: What are you guys doing? Other than a random glitch I can't remember the last time I saw a bug in any Microsoft product.

These are bugs with VS2017. Apparently I am very good at finding edge cases. Yesterday's bug was it fails to find a certain function in ComCtrl32.dll. This was annoying because I had written my own function for that functionality and they added one with the same name that did the same thing. My answer was to dig out my old function and adjust its name. Prior to that it wouldn't load resources from compiler DLLs in a static build so that means I have to use dynamic builds and install the compiler's redistributable package. I was not going to require that but since these are captive systems and apps that's not too big a deal. Prior to that, linking with the GetFileVersionInfo API has become completely hosed. This required some real hacks to work around but I had to do something to handle updating the app. I could go on but I will stop there. I was reporting them but they have ignored the ones I did report except for one they replied to tell me it wasn't a bug. With that one, the behavior in question is by design but happens to be different than in other, related controls. Since then I have stopped wasting my time reporting them.

People like you want cause me to quit any [anonymous] community because in a globally connected system like the web or - as a smaller example - codeproject.com THIS is such a disgusting contamination of human connectivity/exchange of knowledge with [racial][snotnosed] hatred. But your Signature tells more than a thousand languages can do... Lessons learned? I´m afraid but i guess…:Nope  Oh, my… and the worst part of it: there are more like you… :~ X| Edit:Sorry, not native english… :wtf: but funny, somehow -.- EDIT2: @John Simmons / outlaw programmer I truly want to apologize!!! I TOTALLY misunderstood brown-noser; i thought, it was a synonym for dark skinned people. I should have known better... I am sorry! In times of upcoming hatred against any kind of foreigners in germany i am easily irritated… Again, i want to apologize!

Yeah, you dont have to edit binary data, clearly! Look, they only just added the ability to build drivers in VS, so I finally gave up my much used VS 2005 as an editor, though the build was always through a WDK command interface. And I am damned annoyed that VS doesnt automatically open an unknown format of file in binary. Like it always did!

Reminds me of when I had a conversation with my boss about my career. I told him I wasn't worried about any promotions because the company discriminated based on color. He asked Why I thought that and I told him, my nose is the wrong color. I was right, I never got another promotion, but I got a year's severance pay at lay off, so it worked out just fine!
