Nope, there are two candidates: Chinese Democracy - Wikipedia[^] and All the Right Reasons - Wikipedia[^] Three if you count "anything by Justin Bieber".

It wasn't my attribution, hence the quotes, but I have to say, at a level of sheer lack of musicality, with the exception of the drumming, it would be hard to beat. :) --edit-- Just read up on your two proposals and they are no where near bad enough. They actually sold millions, and are the product of talented musicians. You are going to have to work a lot harder to beat my suggestion. :)

Mirrors (Blue Öyster Cult album) - Wikipedia[^] is for me. Truly the worst BÖC album IMHO and I find it completely unlistenable.

It's their worst, not a lot of doubt, but it's doesn't come close to the true awfulness of Nickelback or G'n'R's POS. I was waiting with eager anticipation for years for Chinese Democracy, and it wasn't worth the wait at all.

The Shaggs ~ Philosophy of the World (full album 1969) - YouTube[^] wow, that really is quite some sound they have! It is kind of mesmeric post apocalyptic punk goth.

They have a lot of competition [^]. I used to like that sort of mild and quiet stuff when I was not yet as evil as nowadays.

I have lived with several Zen masters - all of them were cats. His last invention was an evil Lasagna. It didn't kill anyone, and it actually tasted pretty good.

Me too and the disappointment is still there. I know only two Nickelbacks songs so I won't say anything about. The fact is that G'n'R already had variable quality and even their best songs aren't actually *that* much good (I still listen to them and G'n'R Lies is still one of my favourite albums) but such a fall from BOC was totally unexpected. I hated Linkin Park "Minutes to Midnight" too. After Hybrid Theory and Meteora I was expecting much more instead of that uninspired lame album.

Well...at least it sounds like they're trying...and someone just gave them the opportunity to record an album before they were ready for it. I wonder what became of them a few years down the road and if they got any better...whereas with, I dunno, rap...no matter how much time you give the "artist" to hone his skills, it's still going to sound like rap.

I have never understood the hatred aimed at Nickelback. Yes most of their music sounds pretty much the same but that can be said of an awful lot of bands. And the album you cite was hugely successful - just not with you. So just what is so bad about this album?

I have some Nina Hagen albums... But the worst music I enjoy (I still need to rip the vinyl to MP3) is by Xmal Deutschland.

Well, they gained quite a cult flowing, so unusually bad, almost intentionally discordant and synchopatic is their music, including Frank Zappa and Kurt Kobain, and they actually reformed recently and did a show. And it sound exactly the same. :)
