So it's been days since I got a proper sleep and now been 48 hours with no sleep at all. Since I'm running out of options now so here's the question for y'all....What do you do when you're stressed and tired but just can't sleep for no apparent reason? :|

I take my medication. After two days you just tired. After three days you weak. After four days you start hearing things. At day five you'll have visual hallucinations and see things crawling on the wall. A pound of grapes also works to get you sleepy; a suger-rush makes you hazy. Also helps to have it dark, so I have shutters for the windows. Some white noise helps, like rain. And meds. Medications work, as does alcohol. On day four, everything is allowed. Just sleep  --edit If you not taking meds, warm milk with honey may help inducing the same hazyness. If you fail to sleep regularly, go see a doctor. You risc brain damage if you miss too much sleep

Well, you obviously need to lose the stress somehow. Take a couple of days off. Leave the phone at home. Bring a backpack and a tent for a long weekend in the mountains. Or visit your grandparents farm, or whatever works for you.

Mindfulness and resilience can help if you want Guided meditation, Body-Scan, Progressive relaxation... They are audio CDs / MP3 and you might find / buy them in the net. Go out to the nature, go out with your friends, (if you have) play with your kids, read, disconnect your smart phone, go to gym... Avoid big / heavy dinners (low carb, high protein), take lettuce / valerian infusions. If nothing works, go to the doctor and take meds, but I would leave that for the last option.

M.D.V. ;) If something has a solution... Why do we have to worry about?. If it has no solution... For what reason do we have to worry about? Help me to understand what I'm saying, and I'll explain it better to you Rating helpful answers is nice, but saying thanks can be even nicer.

A few possible solutions: 0. Uninstall whatever game it is. 1. Just accept that she's married to your best friend. 2. A couple of aspirin and a mallet.

Thee's plenty out there on youtube and the internet on dealing with insomnia. The one thing I have learnt when I have difficulty sleeping is that trying to sleep makes it harder to sleep, so don't stay in bed but get up and read or go for a walk. I have been for many 2am walks when the rest of the city seems to be asleep. If you can resign yourself to the fact that you have difficulty sleeping and just try to lead a reasonably normal life, for yourself, you will eventually get back into a regular sleep pattern. You haven't told us very much about anything else, but I'd venture a guess that you are stressed in some way and finding some way of dealing with that stress is probably the best way to deal with insomnia(managing stress with alcohol or drugs is not a good long term solution).

That's deadly... Lying on the couch while watching TV/Youtube (with sound set low and ambient light to dim) might help! ^^ Also try be neither too hot or too cold, but on the cold side of it...

I recommend Scotch in large volumes. There's no need to spend a lot on premium brands; the cheap stuff will work just as well, and after 6 you can't tell the difference anyway. ;P

The real problem with insomnia is that you wind up trying too hard to sleep. Sleep is something that just won't come when you're thinking about going to sleep. It's often easier to sleep when you're making an effort to stay awake (which is why I often fall asleep ten minutes before the end of a really enjoyable late-night movie).

Unfortunately, getting drunk is not an option (religious restrictions). But taking notes from everyone's, I went on climbing more or less 500 stairs to a public spot, watched sun rise, took coffee that my mom made me and slept (yeah my brain in wrongly wired  ). Point is, I managed to sleep for sometime and that's all I care right now ;P

So it's been days since I got a proper sleep and now been 48 hours with no sleep at all. Since I'm running out of options now so here's the question for y'all....What do you do when you're stressed and tired but just can't sleep for no apparent reason? :|

I cannot associate with the feeling. Although, in graduate school I'd pull 24hr days with little sleep between them, it was by design and with much caffeine. In real life, I'm a champion catnapper. Coffee does not keep me awake, either. Realizing it's not an option for you, I'd just not that an alcoholic beverage in a quantity known as "a drink" will put me to sleep in ca. 1hr. (330ml beer, 110ml wine, 30ml single malt scotch). I do not bring this up idly: does your faith not allow exceptions for true medical need (perhaps with the approval of a respected religious figure)? I note this only in that, so far as it goes, the effect of alcohol on the body is basically harmless (assuming one isn't a heavy drinker/alcoholic) compared to the other medications. I know that religion often has its own whys and wherefores, but exceptions for true medical treatment are sometimes made - better for you then then the other sleep aids (although you may receive a 'no' because the others exist). This paragraph is rhetorical - no need for you to actually answer.

Find a recording of the last set of U.S. Democratic party debates. You should be asleep in 30 minutes.
