Good for you. I don't drink for health reasons. Is it possible you were really sleeping and dreaming you were awake? ;P

So it's been days since I got a proper sleep and now been 48 hours with no sleep at all. Since I'm running out of options now so here's the question for y'all....What do you do when you're stressed and tired but just can't sleep for no apparent reason? :|

I use audiobooks (or podcasts, youtube streams etc.) I started out trying a self-hypnosis cd from Paul McKenna which sort of worked and then discovered just having an audiobook on at a lowish volume worked - I still wake up during the night but quickly fall back asleep. The only issue is losing your place in the book and so you end up listening to the same chapters over and over LOL

Absinth? Talk about an old school sleep remedy. lol.. Why not just take a few drags of some good quality reefer? I find it helps a few ailments, including sleep. :)

I get on my elliptical and do a 30 minutes run at high resistance. Getting tired physically relieves stress a lot.

Eat a healthy meal, drink water and go for a 30 minute walk. Listen to music while you do and don't really think about anything important. It's important to let go of your stress and not hold onto it for days on end. Developers often use stress as a motivator to get stuff done, but that's also super unhealthy. My own appendix exploded because I did that too and I nearly died. If you're still in your early 20's you should be fine though.

If we were having an in-person conversation I would have said something like "It's not death but life that scares me" (in a very dramatic way) :-D Well, yes I'm in my early 20's but can stress double my age. LOL ;P

I'm in my early 30's now and I really can't do that anymore. Just make sure there's some long-term benefit to what you're doing right now. If you're doing this for a manager, you should probably start looking for a healthier work environment. Managers who don't consider your health are objectively bad at their job.

I feel attacked. Because I'm working independently so no bad manager but all comes down on me. :sigh:

Valerian Root from the local health food store puts me out. In addition, meditation helps relieve stress.

Well, you obviously need to lose the stress somehow. Take a couple of days off. Leave the phone at home. Bring a backpack and a tent for a long weekend in the mountains. Or visit your grandparents farm, or whatever works for you.

This is a really good answer to this. Get away and shut off things that cause stress.

A bit of indica helps. After a hard day, I take some before bed. Takes the edge off, and keeps you from thinking about stuff while lying in bed. Also, you don't wake up groggy the next morning.
