Why is the EU like the UN

At the risk of sounding like a one-trick pony[^] Maybe the EU is really just another one of those UN committees - makes BREXIT seem more sensible than ever.

Yeah, it's not like the UN. I don't really care if they intend to slap Israel on the wrist. :) However here something much bigger in the works: [European officials draft radical plan to take on Trump and U.S. tech companies - POLITICO](https://www.politico.com/story/2019/08/22/europe-plan-trump-tech-companies-1472326)

It's the kind of information that has been feeding into the growing antisemitic violence in the EU. As for EU plans to 'get back' at the US - that's basically their 24/7 plans since, well, always. As for Big US Tech - a source of revenue to subsidize the economic basket cases in the EU. If they thought they could get away with it with China - maybe they would - just maybe. That, however, takes some balls. I don't expect that to go anywhere.

They managed to put an appeal to authority, casting blame on someone else, and an appeal to a technicality, all in one sentence. Impressive.

An appeal to "but they're doing it too"? All of this is also frequently complained about. OK maybe not the Western Sahara, no one cares about that.

Zionist propaganda, by definition, as making that claim is the defining feature of zionism. 1/10 troll article. Even though there are decent arguments to be made, the article made none of them.

"European Future Fund that would invest more than $100 billion in equity stakes in high-potential European companies." Typical left wing approach, tax the people to death then piss the money up the wall. This fund will provide jobs for thousands of pen pushers, result in some big headline funding for a couple of companies, and result in some product in the future that has limited appeal. This is the problem with Europe, it doesnt understand free market. This is why it will never compete with the UK/US way of doing things.

You show the classic features of being throughout brainwashed. The stats in the article help explain to you how it was done - but by-and-large, it will have no effect on your opinions: after all, that's what brainwashing does. Even a claim, made in writing for thousands of years, means nothing to you - yet, as a first-person anecdote I can point out that the arabs of east Jerusalem identified as Jordanian in the 1970's - the palestinian identity was created (artificially) to motivate new cannon fodder because Egypt and Jordan had made peace with Israel. First-person (i.e., me) who was accepted enough to be offered a job in an arab's Old-City shop if I wanted it. And - back to paragraph one - you skirt the real point I made: the EU information is targeted - to have a long-term psychological impact. Worked on you.

The article shouldn't change my, or anyone's, opinions. It's one long string of logical fallacies. The only people receptive to them are people who already agreed with the conclusions beforehand. Also the EU has a super broken brainwashing program because my opinion about the *situation* (not the article) is still: the state of Israel can and probably should evict the palestinians. Should've been done right at the start, the second best time is now. It's a bit of an asshole move, sure. I'm sure the EU would throw a righteous temper tantrum like the sanctimonious pricks they are. But a sovereign state can just simply .. do it. With or without international approval.

The EU's already infested with countries who want to boycott Israel. Local towns, such as in Ireland and Spain have even voted to do so. The Scandinavians consider killing a knife-wheeling killer an extra-judicial execution (per Swedish foreign minister). Meanwhile, China (for example) declares people criminals, executes them and harvests/sells their organs. The standard you speak of (effectively 'do it', they get over it) doesn't apply. It's also not the nature of the people - one of those biblical things about being fair to strangers (at least trying): 'do not oppress the strangers in your land for you were strangers in the land of Egypt'. Else, years ago they should have made it simple: we're tired of this - next attack and our first target is to toast Mecca; then Medina, then the rest of you - followed up by an explosion in the Mecca city limits - so they know that can do it. Peace? When the arabs/palestinians are held to the same standards as the Israelis they'll come back to the table. When they're told that negotiations do not start with 'give me everything I want or I won't come to the meeting'. When their leadership is held accountable for the banditry they conduct instead of using funds to help their peoples, and maybe most serious of all, when they stop raising their children with the belief that Israel has no right to exist and they should martyr themselves for this cause. Then, perhaps, peace talks can begin.
