Brexit: Queen Will Suspend U.K. Parliament At Boris Johnson's Request : NPR[^] My very first thought was "Damn! I wish we had a Queen who could suspend our congress!" :-O Seriously though... what did the UK Parliament expect when they oppose the will of the people?

Well, the Queen, I have heard, is no fan of the EU, so I was expecting her to step in at some time and make things happen.

Whatever her personal feelings she would never do anything without advice from the PM.

some believe the perfect government is a benevolent dictator. I "somewhat" agree to this as when you add more than one person to the mix, it turns into a cluster fuck of epic proportions - hence our government.

She does have the power to suspend parliament, it is about all she has, but of course wouldnt exercise that power without the PM asking her.

Just a small problem with benevolent dictators. They grew less benevolent over time. A lot less.

The suspension ends on October 14. Parliament will find a way to postpone this Brexit stuff. (IMHO fortunately)

#FakeNews It's normal procedure to shut parliament down during breaks. Not saying they haven't timed it to their advantage, but it isn't the big deal the media is making it out to be. Even governments take a break once a year.

Hmm? If that’s the case, why are your MPs crying like 2 year olds?

Because they are losing. What these dimwits fail to understand is that they are the opponents of democracy. Boris is merely trying to implement what they all voted for.

Because the break is prolonged a couple of weeks to make sure the parliament doesn't have time to do anything.

I believe your cluster fuck starts at the benevolence being selective.

I could start with Julius Caesar, and go on from there. Or should I start earlier than that?
