Lots of people have favourite movies that were big hits, but what about those that you thought were really, really good - but bombed at the box office for some weird reason. Even if the film didn't do so well, perhaps it has a great line in it? One of mine is "Tremors" from 1990. The best line is, "...but I want to live for the three days"!

Harold and Maude, Bud Cort and Ruth Gordon. Didn't make a profit until 12 years after it was released.

[The Bothersome Man](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The\_Bothersome\_Man) I loved this film. So bizarre. So good. Also, [Monsters (2010)](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Monsters\_(2010\_film)). 500K budget, incredible use of CGI (as in: very, very subtle and well blended) and it was about the story, not the effects.

      cheers Chris Maunder

Have you seen "Wristcutters"? It's a sort of love story passing through hell that looks just like a more run-down version of earth - also bizarre.

Not as bad as people made out. Would have been way better without the ex-Mrs Pitt.

Here's a few films I stumbled upon at various times which I enjoyed. I don't think any of them could be called hits (though some became cult classics): - Red Rock West - Office Space - True Romance - Leaving Las Vegas - Reservoir Dogs - Charley Varrick

The Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai Across the 8th Dimension. Hands down #1. Cast: Peter Weller, John Lithgow, Jeff Goldblum, Ellen Barkin, Christopher Lloyd, Robert Ito. John Lithgow is magnificent. Peter Weller and Jeff Goldblum are also wonderful. Ellen Barkin is go good and so very young and hot It brought tears to my eyes. #2 Earth Girls Are Easy. Stars:Geena Davis, Jeff Goldblum, Jim Carrey. #3 Repo Man. Stars: Harry Dean Stanton, Emilio Estevez, Tracey Walter #4 The Commitments. Stars: Robert Arkins, Michael Aherne, Angeline Ball. If you were ever in a rock band or thought about joining one, this film is a MUST See.:cool::cool:

Electric Dreams (1984) Staring Virginia Madsen and Lenny von Dohlen. Most of the music by Boy George and Culture Club. Money makes the world go round ... but documentation moves the money.

Moon (2009) - IMDB. A great SciFi show with a great twist at the end.

[Idiocracy](https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0387808/ "Idiocracy") Though its a bit depressing how prophetic it has become.
