I needed to download JDK 1.8 so I googled for it. Google takes me to Oracle download site. After clicking the download link I have to create an Oracle account which wants Company name and work phone and address, etc. You suck Oracle!

That's what I use my spam magnet account for and that is the actual user name of it.

I have one of those: "DontSendMeAnyCrap@..." It's an auto-delete everything account. Or there is Mailinator if they want a confirmation email.

That actually is where I downloaded it from. Once you check to accept the terms and then click the Hyperlink it then takes you to a login page where you have to login to the Oracle site.

No idea thanks. I don’t know enough about Java. I went ahead and signed up but did not give out the real information so I got the download.

Do you have a specific need for downloading Oracle's implementation? If not, you could tell Oracle off and just get the Corretto distribution here: Downloads for Amazon Corretto 8 - Amazon Corretto[^] If not, get the OpenJDK.
