The Scottish half of my family used to have a castle (and a farm) in Scotland but a great-great uncle lost it all in a poker game! It has always been my dream to earn (or lottery win) enough money to buy it all back, fix it up and resume living there. However, I found that the new owners fell on hard times (probably not good poker players themselves) and let the place rot - to the point they had to demolish one wing before it fell down. The building has since been "listed" so you can't rebuild that wing, or do anything else much in the way of improvements, even if you wanted to. Bah! Another dream crushed! :mad:
