Octal or Octogenarian? In the latter case, we forgive you for mixing up '2' digits and '3' digits.

077 puts you on 3rd place, because there are some of 74 already, so you must be 0113 or above, but that is 4 digits...

After reading OG's post about ARPANET 50 years ago I started to wonder who is the oldest/youngest active member here (age not membership)?

How active must a person be on the boards to be considered active? I know I'm not close to either end of the spectrum but curious minds and all that. '81 so just a wee lad by some people's standards.

Does octal have to have the leading zero? It's early and I skipped coffee this morning.

Born a couple of months before VJ day. Without wishing to offend any of our eastern friends, my dad was still fighting their fathers or grandfathers when I was born.

You take the prize so far - by about seven months, which actually looks like a whole year in this case. I have no idea what my father did the in war except: 1. He finished at Oxford and quickly got commissioned into the Royal Corps of Signals. 2. Rapidly promoted to middle ranks. 3. Never left the UK for the whole of the war. 4. Lived and worked in a bunker in London that was so far underground he never had to worry about bombs. I know more about my grandfather in the first war, who was a gunnery officer onboard HMS Dreadnought.

Are you giving your age in (solar) years, or (lunar) months? :D
