I thought crafty was the anagram indicator. How do you get arch from crafty and what was the anagram indicator if crafty was for arch?

It's a double definition - Crafty indicates the anagram of dean and co and also means Arch - sneaky but I like it :-D

"Arch" has an adjective meaning of "mischievous, saucy, or 'marked by a deliberate and often forced playfulness, irony, or impudence'": Arch | Definition of Arch by Merriam-Webster[^] which is similar to "crafty" in the sense of "devious and clever". Anagram indicator? Gawd knows, I don't! :laugh:
