I'd rather get hit by a bus on the way to a starbucks rather than taking a sip of the antpiss they serve there. I'm glad to be surrounded by local coffee shops that know how to brew a really good cup.

Don't insult ant piss. It isn't as bad as Starbucks' "coffee"... :)

Christmas tip: When you grind those special quality Christmas coffee beans to give yourself a treat: Put a couple cardamom seeds with the coffee beans in the grinder. It should be whole seeds - pre-ground cardamom looses its aroma fast, and the aroma is what you want for your coffee - you shouldn't use so much that you have a "taste" of cardamom. Some people suggest adding a little cinnamon as well (again: for the aroma, not for the "taste"). My grinder doesn't handle cinnamon bark very well, so I add cinnamon only when making a whole pot, and can put a piece of bark to soak in the pot immediatly after brewing. Coffee isn't Christmas Coffee unless it has a slight touch of cardamom, and a touch of cinnamon.

I find it odd how much people admit to being addicted to drugs and think it's a badge of honor.

Not only consume... they pay a lot of $$$ for it. If I am not wrong, it actually is one of the most expensive coffees worldide. I was in Sumatra in a farm of it, and IIRC they wanted 150$ for 500gr. In Munich you pay over 7€ (in very exclusive coffee shops) for an espresso of it.
