I also have moved (one last item to go) from GoDaddy to NameCheap. A little getting used to but they really work with you adapting to a new interface (at least for me) - the standard CPanel. GoDaddy, giants that they are, have gotten greedier and greedier. Low-ball pricing to get you set up and then relying on the reliable laziness of most people to not want to change things when the prices skyrocket. Only one more domain to move (and no website). Very Good Riddance.

I'm on GoDaddy for $12.95/month. I'm looking to switch to something that offers virtual servers that run Windows. Someone suggested Amazon Lightsail. Any other ideas? I wrote an ISAPI Extension for IIS that allows for web development with a language that only runs on Windows (PowerBuilder).

I used GoDaddy for many years and finally had so many problems that they couldn't resolve that I moved to SmarterAsp.net[^]. They have a completely free trial (no credit card needed) for 60 days and they inexpensive and provide one free SSL cert on some of their options that are quite inexpensive. I've only had a couple of issues there and their tech support is responsive and helpful (amazing these days). If you can keep the SSL and hosting separate, I can recommend Let's Encrypt. I now have two domains (one Azure VM and one self-hosted) using it. The certs are setup to autorenew and so far it has mostly worked like a charm.* *The exception involves getting dns authorization to work, but now I believe that was due to my impatience. dns auth is required when using a wildcard (*.domain) cert. I got around it using url rewrites. Good luck and let us know what you choose. Funny that as I was reading this post yesterday, I was in the middle of troubleshooting Let's Encrypt on my self-hosted domain...one of my goals before new years! :)
