Not allowing the frivolous clicking of the Reply All button. I don't mind wedding and baby announcements being sent to the entire company, but I can't stand all of the "Congratulations" replies to those emails.

Reply all with an explanation of how dumb it is. It doesn't solve anything, but it feels nice. And it's deserved, I'd do it again.

I work with clients and third party vendors. Sometimes, I want an email to go both into the client folder and the third party vendor folder, as the email is related to both. :sigh: Your turn!

Thunderbird will do multiple actions in a filter. Example: This popped up when I had both move and copy. When a message matches this filter the actions will be run in this order: 1. Copy Message to lou on Local Folders 2. Move Message to comodo on Local Folders I use Popfile along with Thunderbird. I can insert anything in subject line with popfile. Every email client I have ever used has kudos and warts. Lou

Isn't Office 365 just Office rebranded for subscription? Earlier versions of Outlook allowed you to create Rules, which would probably allow you to do want you want.

"Normal" versions of Outlook definitely allows this with rules, as can be seen when you accidentally set up the same rule twice.

Outlook (at least the desktop client) allows you to add multiple user defined categories to any email, sounds like the same functionality as Gmail labels. You can definately filter by category as well.

I pretty much gave up on folders for Outlook a few years back, I just use search if I need to find an email. The cc/bcc on the email should make it clear who else the email went to.

In outlook you have categories you can create. Combining those with rules you should be able to achieve what you want.

Thunderbird[^] can be used as a local client for Outlook and many freemails, including Gmail. I have used it to backup email services that otherwise cannot be backed up, and it's possible to move emails between accounts without having to forward them. One drawback -- Thunderbird (when I used it) didn't understand Gmail labels. I discovered that when I synced, an email that had more than 1 label was downloaded into a folder that corresponded to each label, so it produce duplicates. While it irritated me, this is what Marc wants (although with Outlook). I haven't used Thunderbird in a couple of years, but found it's been significantly updated (the above link is for their What's New in v68 page). I'll be playing with it.

you can setup rules and just make sure that you continue to process other rules. So rule 1 for the first requirement copy item to folder 1. continue to process other rules. So rule 2 for the second requirement copy item to folder 2. Then delete from main folder. Done.

Help me to understand what I'm saying, and I'll explain it better to you Rating helpful answers is nice, but saying thanks can be even nicer.

Not only read the entire email, but respond back with more than one word answer to a multi-part question. It only makes me have to re-ask the same question again when they answer the first question part and ignore the rest of the question(s).
