I just installed Windows 10 2004 and discovered the text cursor indicator. It lets you put colored balls at the top and bottom of the text cursor. You pick the color and size. This is great! Before, I tried making the cursor fatter but this didn't make it any easier to find and confused where the insertion point was. These colored balls I can see and still keep the cursor thin!

You can find it under "Ease of Access", or just enter "cursor" in "Find a setting" to search for it.

Great! I just started to use it. ;P Easy to find the cursor. Some times I used the thick cursor, but this has the problem that it could be confused with "Insert Mode". This one is much better.

do a search from the start menu - it's part of ease of access.

Seems like it depends on the individual application on whether or not this feature works. Maybe they aren't using the built-in system cursor? Working examples: Brave browser (essentially Chromium) Slack Notepad Ubuntu console Non-working examples: Notepad++ Visual Studio Code Git Bash LibreOffice
