I hope you don't hit that button, else we'll lose posts that are at various times thoughtful, amusing, or vituperative, or even all three.

On another forum I know (and many others too, I expect) this is known as a "flounce". ;-) Why not just stop logging in for a while and come back when the air has cleared. Looking at the other thread, it's not that bad a confrontation. ** edit ** Oh, I see you've already gone. :-( Oh well, you've still got 28 days to un-flounce, I guess.

It's not the first, those guys have been going at it for months if not years. What I don't get is how you can let a stranger on the internet get under your skin like that :~ Sure, I've had my disagreements with people online, but it's so very easy to ignore them, you literally just have to do absolutely nothing

I'm not sure if he's very stable mentally. All of our posts are there, if I did something wrong I don't mind someone pointing it out with an explanation. He's behaved this way before with other conservative people. No discussion, just unfounded accusations.

Please don't. Some people come to have fun. Some people come to learn. Some people come to teach. Some people come to antagonize. If you let the antagonizers drive you away, they won. Set a filter.
If you can keep your head while those about you are losing theirs, perhaps you don't understand the situation.

You can't leave...if you did and we divided up your rep points to be divided out between us it would come out odd and and some would get more than others. Seriously...you'll be missed, stick around.

In case you didn't notice, Eddy is the antagonist here. So, he did win, and he self-filtered off the site.

Why is there any need, at all, to make personal comments about someone else on forums dedicated to software development and the sharing of knowledge. Stop the trolling, the "let's see how close I can push it" mentality, the "it's not my fault, it was him", and instead focus on contributing to an experience that is positive for the readers here.

With new daily records ... and rhetoric about "rounding the bend" ... proves that reason has been sacrificed. For the logic-minded, "that" is the definition of "mentally unstable"; at least as it applies to their sycophants.

You are correct, Chris. However, it frustrates the hell out of me that others on the site don't get in trouble for the same behavior, let alone, a personal reply comment from you on the matter. Eddy started this, and he ended it. Let's not forget that. Since you guys banned me a while back I have behaved for the most part, and I toe the line in regards to your site and forum rules, but there is very much a double standard at this site regarding certain members and who gets in trouble and who does not for the same offenses.

Be prepared to have any answers you've posted downvoted in order to affect your rep points. When I called him out on his trolling back in September, the next day over ten of my not-so-good answers were downvoted within a span of a couple minutes. I didn't care, but if it is being done to others I do care. And I care that Eddy has left. Sad.

Sander you are not old, grumpy and passionate about the same subjects as the combatants. However if I bitched at you about your coding style/capabilities you might feel differently. The VB forum will miss Eddy.
