Enjoy your week away - you will find that after a few days of no PC/Internet Access the shakes/sweats/other nasty withdrawal symptoms gradually subside:wtf: JohnJ Time for a :java::java::java::beer: http://www.rainbow-innov.co.uk[^]
I'll be soothing my withdrawl symptoms with nice californian wines.. ;) -- Counting the days in the haze around you Susanne let the ether fall Out of phase, I am all around you Susanne on the wall

:laugh::laugh: The strange thing is my wife and her ex husband were driving from San Francisco to Texas and went via Phoenix. Apparently they just drove through and liked the place so much they decided to move here :omg: For myself, I can't tell one part of the place from any other. It just looks the same to my eyes, hectares and hectares of identical houses as far as the eye can see... Rob Manderson http://www.mindprobes.net
At least there's a hockey team in Phoenix. :) -- Counting the days in the haze around you Susanne let the ether fall Out of phase, I am all around you Susanne on the wall

Polk street? What's to be expected there? :) -- Counting the days in the haze around you Susanne let the ether fall Out of phase, I am all around you Susanne on the wall
Jörgen Sigvardsson wrote: Polk street? What's to be expected there? for this heterosexual, it was odd for me. Just stuff you see there you don't see everyday. It was fun though, I think I hung out at one of the bars just off of Polk, can't remember. "Before there was the Castro there was the Polk Street / Tenderloin area. Polk Street is full of bars, most of them of a dubious nature, and certainly a place where the friendship between old gays and booze lives on day and night. But hey, if you want to find yourself a hustler or watch the tranny prostitutes go by, this is the spot for you. Diva’s is the ultimate tranny bar, and keep an eye peeled for exhibitions and receptions at Space gallery." http://www.gayglobal.com/san_francisco/info/polk.html[^] Later,

Stephane Rodriguez. wrote: What a bunch of crap. HTTP/HTML was invented in Geneva, switzerland. Relax. I wasn't trying to claim US dominion over the invention of all internet technologies. The internet and all of it's technologies are truly world wide achievements but... back in the late 60's, 70's and early 80's the San Francisco bay area was a mecca in this area and deserves a little credit now and then. P.S. HTTP/HTML is only one (albeit large) part of the "internet". Mike Mullikin

I might check in. I *might*. But I don't think I will have time for it to be honest. Maybe Friday, Saturday next week. I will however try to stay away from computers as much as possible. I really need this vacation. I'm beginning to hate computers. :| -- Counting the days in the haze around you Susanne let the ether fall Out of phase, I am all around you Susanne on the wall

Stephen HawkingIt's the truth. At the end of the day, computers suck, no matter how fun it was hacking on it the same morning. There is no magic left. :| -- Counting the days in the haze around you Susanne let the ether fall Out of phase, I am all around you Susanne on the wall

Yes it is! I've been there one time before briefly. This time I will get to know every corner of the city. :) -- Counting the days in the haze around you Susanne let the ether fall Out of phase, I am all around you Susanne on the wall

The last time I spent any time there (1979) that was a dangerous idea. It's much worse now, though I suppose that now you're less likely to be beaten than fondled in some of those corners.:)
