    1. Read 2 books so far ( Shoe Dog, The Happiest Man on Earth ) and on to third one ( Dare to Lead ) 1) Learning a programming language that I may never use ( Rust. Just out of curiocity. ) 2) Need to do some certification that work will ask for next year. This is on todo list. May get to it in next few days. 3) On call support for work while everyone is on leave. So far only couple of support issues from clients so going well in that regard. How are you all coping this holiday season ?

I've been re-reading Harry Potter. :-D And trying to write up a little documentation of my vintage (camera) lens collection.

I am doing the free courses on Kaggle - Learn Python, Data Viz, Pandas & More | Tutorials | Kaggle[^] Each is approximately one or two days long, and there are 16 courses, so this is likely to complete by the end of Jan 2021.

I started learning rust and I learned just enough to realize I would never use it.

Covid hasn't interfered with my plans, but another lockdown has wrecked tennis and fitness training for the next month. The last time it happened, I got a fair bit of code written. My tennis pro's sons are probably going a bit stir crazy, so I got them memberships to chess.com for Christmas.

I was doing the same thing with Go. :) Go is an interesting language and the book I am reading[^] has Brian W. Kernighan (of C fame[^]) as one of the authors. It's interesting to see him with a new language after all these years. How do you like Rust? I plan on reading a book on it in the near future. What book did you read?

So far it feels like any other language with its own naming convention for most of the things. Same same but different (like library is called crate, compiler is called Cargo, something that looks like .NET namesapce is called trait ). Easy to grasp coming from programming background.

              Just their online manual.

What holiday plans? :D Most Israelis celebrate the Jewish new year, which falls in September or October of the civil calendar. Some celebrate the civil new year, mostly those of Soviet extraction ("Novi God"). It isn't an official holiday here.

I intend to spend this holiday weekend putting my side-by-side (Teryx4) back together. Decided to remove and replace/upgrade all of the suspension components, and add much larger tires. What a task... I recently started book seven of The Wheel of Time (A Crown of Swords) which I intend to read on as well. A very nice high fantasy series spanning 14 books. Worth a read if fantasy is your thing. I'll probably finish up Horizon Zero Dawn on PC too. Been slowly working on 100% completion on it and the expansion. One of my top ten favorite games of all time. Finally, put in some work on a Xamarin app I've been working with this last year. So much left to do. Oh, and some Mario Kart on the Switch with the kids. :)

My customers are in education support so I had almost 2.5 weeks to take advantage of the downtime and tackle a few major projects that need a few days each of intense concentration. Of that 2.5 weeks so far, I've spent 6 days away from home visiting kids/grandkids, 1 day assembling a new desk and bookcase I bought the wife...when she picked it out, she assumed it came assembled, and only 5 days of working on my priority stuff. The other days, including most of today, have been spent trying to appease a senior partner with her pet project...I call it the gift that keeps on giving. The missus has scheduled us for New Year's Eve dinner/drinks at a friend's house. The friend's boyfriend is a chess freak and seems to get a sick satisfaction from repeatedly beating people who just don't take it that seriously. The next afternoon, my younger brother will be making a pitstop on his way to a 5 week baseball umpire school to pursue his second dream career. (That's what happens when you retire too early from the first career without good planning) This means that I only have a few days left of peace and quiet to finish up the holiday todo list. On the plus side, my son-in-law in Florida gave me a really nice Christmas present that is helping to lift my spirits and increase my concentration...getting a lot done!

Get me coffee and no one gets hurt!
