Because surgeons wear proper masks, not homemade or fashionable ones made of cloth.

So you're suggesting we've been provided with "improper" masks all along? Where do you get yours? I have an acquaintance working as a surgeon's assistant in an ER, and he's been my supplier. I can't tell these masks apart from those most people are wearing (and are now being told to double and triple).

I suggest we hold our breath really long until the virus stops! It's also the cure to overpopulation, hunger, global warming, obesity, capitalism, socialism... Basically a one size fits all solution (provided we ALL do it) :D Alright people, at the count of three, 1... 2... 3... ... ... X| At this point I wouldn't even be surprised if some people actually did it if the government said so :sigh:

better yet, let's all just wear full body space suits with self contained filtration systems. NYC Health Department recommends double masking to fight COVID[^] I personally, think this is stupid, and we are now just being silly.

I don't know where I get mine, because my wife bought them. :-D They look like surgical masks but may not be N95 rated. But they certainly seem to be better than cloth masks.

Because most can't fit one properly ... the odds are better with more layers, I suspect. For the non-medical ones, if you knot the strings where they connect first, the whole thing fits better. As for not stopping "sneezing and coughing", you're supposed to do that "into your elbow" ... the argumentative tend to skip over that part. Only because they apply, doesn't means that more people will follow them   :sigh: :sigh: :sigh:

Help me to understand what I'm saying, and I'll explain it better to you Rating helpful answers is nice, but saying thanks can be even nicer.

Being based in the UK you will also know that Ofcom clamps down on any mainstream media outlets questioning the government narrative. Which is why the BBC has not been asking any questions.

That would lead to muffled speech for a lot of politicians. :)
