If you could have any kind of private jet, which type/brand would you choose? [Asking for a friend.]

    - I would love to change the world, but they won’t give me the source code.

Now you got us curious - It cannot be for you ; if you were at that level of remuneration, the Code project lounge is probably not the place you would come to ask for this, I am more thinking about a cigar smoke fulled room with leather sofas, old libraries with false books, and lots of people in suits. If it is for a friend, I am not entirely sure he would take advice from a bunch of software engineers to spend a few millions. So : what is this question ? :-D /edit: if you are really seeking for advice, gulfstreams are indeed good, already owned a bunch, but I settled for a Falcon 8X two years ago. /edit2: *cough* *cough* I really wish people would stop smoking the cigar. That book in the library looks really strange.

You probably mean 737 - but they do not fullfill the reliable requirement. A380 are also going to be pretty´cheap soon.

Ok, a Hairier Jump Jet then, so I can come and go from the driveway much to the chagrin of my neighbors. :-D

Is that a Dog or a Cat? Despite having spent many years based at the home of the Harrier (there are two or three places claiming that accolade), I would like a Hotol (British Aerospace HOTOL - Wikipedia[^]); failing that I'd like a Concorde.

It can't make it across the Atlantic - especially not in rough seas.

I'd probably choose the A-10 Warthawg.

When I worked at British Aerospace I saw (and heard) one of those taking off on full reheat. Toddled down the runway, lifted off slightly, rotated to 90 degree straight up and whoosh! Gone up through the clouds in seconds! Power to weight ratio of greater than 1 - which means it could accelerate while going perpendicular!

Mad, insane aeroplane, the wing flaps were part of the fuel tanks and they leaked like a sieve. How cool, I wanted to fly one, sadly got too tall and eyesight went then I wanted to go to Thunder City is South Africa, but thats not an option now! (you crash one jet!)

I'm pretty sure none of the local tree-hugging hippies are gonna give me grief over the gas mileage at the gas station when I have a 30mm gatlin gun stickin outa the nose of my private jet, when it can cut their prius clean in half with a short half-second burst. :)

I'm pretty sure none of the local tree-hugging hippies are gonna give me grief over the gas mileage at the gas station when I have a 30mm gatlin gun stickin outa the nose of my private jet, when it can cut their prius clean in half with a short half-second burst. :)

I thought they'd been hunted to extinction in your neck of the woods!

If you could have any kind of private jet, which type/brand would you choose? [Asking for a friend.]

                                          - I would love to change the world, but they won’t give me the source code.

Are you asking for Jared Dillian[^]? He wrote about the idea of private jets for cats and apparently discussed it on his Jan 7th broadcast.
