Somebody call the riot squad - I'm off to travel the unfriendly skies again. It's going to be a long day, since my flight leaves from Las Vegas ( a 2 1/2 hour drive due to road construction ) at 1:00 AM Friday, the plane doesn't arrive until 9:00 AM ( there's a 2 hour layover at DFW ), and I can't check into the hotel until 3:00 PM. As far as I can see from my research on the Internet there is exactly nothing to do in Indy - that should make for a fun week. X| Any suggestions?

Oh sure, Indianapolis is culturally dead but as long as you're in Indiana you need to go north to Gary. The rusted out steel mills and block upon block of boarded up neighborhoods are "beautiful" this time of year. With any luck you'll even get mugged to make your trip a memorable one.

You could check out the speedway (not sure if it's open).

Hmm, you could visit my grandpa. :-D Oddly, I've been to Indy several times but it's always to visit family, so I've rarely had a chance to actually explore the city and see what's going on. [EDIT: There is a Russel Stover candy outlet about 50 miles (maybe? I forget how far it is) south on I-65. :-D] "When a man sits with a pretty girl for an hour, it seems like a minute. That's a great idea! I'll be missing karate practice while I'm away, so maybe I can get some exercise while I'm there.:-D

I don't think the martial arts would provide you with much of a chance - everyone in Gary carries a gun. Of course, if you can dodge bullets you're good :) I live in Indiana, but I'm down south, 9 miles from Louisville, KY which is where I work... I can't help much with Indy... The biggest problem with Indiana and Indianapolis is that the dumbass govenor has chased businesses out of the state... in fact, I think 80% of all new business brought to Indiana by the previous administration are no longer in the state... that's sad. You're not too far from my neck of the woods. Trust me, its boring here. I have a cop friend in Indy, maybe he could take you to the seedier neighborhoods.

Even by the standards of the midwest - Indy is kind of dull. I was there just last Monday. Had a mocha, went back home.

Or you could sell them to one of those T.V. shows, "World's dummest crooks". However, it sounds like you will probably want to keep the camera hidden. Only driven through Indy once and it was quickly. There are quite a few cities in the US where there is nothing to do. I have found that most people in those areas do a lot of going to the movies and procreating. Not necessarily at the same time though. --

Well, it has been a few years since I was there but I do remember liking their children’s museum. Many well done interactive exhibits. If that is to much excitement you can drive up to Kokomo and watch my wife’s uncles corn grow. Oh yes, while at DFW get some brisket or Braum’s Ice cream.
