A few years ago I had some health issues and now I can't have caffeine. A year ago I developed a lactose intolerance as well, go me!!!. As a result I have to have decaf and milk alternatives. My wife still laughs every time we are out and I order a "Decaf Soy Latte". Then she calls me an inner city toffee nose wanker (Aussie slang).

I hardly ever drink coffee. I lost my taste for it and now don't like it much. Depending on the time of day, I drink one of three types of black tea, or green tea or jasmine tea.

g) Other, with hot chocolate. I really don't like coffee, but I do need it to wake up. Our machine has coffee choco and Wiener melange (which has chocolate over here, but not in Vienna), but I make my own with more chocolate :D

Coffee enemas are a thing, though. Not sure why, though I imagine it would speed the caffeine intake.

X| X| X| You might as well get an IV of pure caffeine (in the correct amount, obviously...). It has all the same disadvantages of no taste and no smell, but a much smaller "yuck factor".

The fox knows many things, but the hedgehog knows one big thing. An acquaintance with hepatitis-C used coffee enemas to "purge the liver", where (as I understand it) the coffee (caffeine?) caused the liver to dump the toxins it had collected, all at once. I have no idea if this really works in any fashion, just reporting what I was told.

Are you in Louisiana? I love Community Coffee with Chicory! Hard to find the pods for my Keurig, though. Sometinmes I have to get French Market with Chicory, New Orleans Roasters, or Union Pure. I've never seen Community Coffee outside of Louisiana, or possibly the Mississippi GULF Coast.

Blend your own coffee and use an insert. The coffee will be much better than the pre-made pods. My home area (Upstate NY) didn't sell Luzianne, which contains chicory. My parents loved it so when visiting family in the US southeast, they'd buy 20 lbs at a time. They'd ration it out over the year, mixing it with other coffees. I roast coffee and when I buy I get the higher end brands. But I have a fondness for Folgers or Maxwell House blended with Luzianne ... :-D

I worked in Mandeville for a few years back in the early 2000s. I had a little condo right off the causeway on the north shore. I wasn't on the water, but I was close enough that I could see masts from my upstairs windows and hear the shrimp boats starting up every morning at the break of dawn. It's one of my favorite places that I've ever lived. :) As for the Community brand, the only place I get it anymore is Jackson when in town visiting out grandson which thankfully is often enough that it's basically become the Sunday morning tradition. :)

We lived in Mandeville for several years beginning in 1985. Built a house in Parc du Lac. I agree it was a wonderful place to live. Moved to Charlotte, NC on business and lived there for about 10 years before moving back. Charlotte is also a nice place to live, though the complete opposite of New Orleans/Mandeville. In Charlotte they work like hell and don't know how to party. Down here we party like hell and don't know how to work. ;P
