If trains drive you crazy, do they have a loco motive? TotD is going to take a holiday for a while - I'm not sure how long - as I've been doing them almost every weekday for over six years now (The First[^]) and I'm getting a little "punned out" so I have decided to take a break. The end of a month seemed like an appropriate point to rest up! So, I'd just like to say "thank you" to everyone who has responded (with some truly groan-worthy puns over the years) you have brightened my afternoons!

So, you have come to the end of the track. It has been fun, but I'm glad you haven't gone off the rails. :-D

Stupid - An individual without knowledge and is incapable of learning. Idiot - An individual without knowledge and allows social media to do the thinking for them.

And thank you! The TotD will be missed - it's one of the things I always look for when I browse the lounge.

Thank the Great Ghu. while I always read the TotD reading the follow up puns is even worse than listening to them. From all of us that do NOT enjoy puns thank you for your service and may TotD rest in peace.

Why does my brain respond to this by hearing an imaginary voice saying: 'loose caboose' ?

                          Quote:

caboose (n.) 1747, "ship's cookhouse," from Middle Dutch kambuis "ship's galley," from Low German kabhuse "wooden cabin on ship's deck;" probably a compound whose elements correspond to English cabin and house (n.). Railroading sense "car for the use of the conductor, brakeman, etc.," is by 1859.
