A browser has one job, yet that one does at least three?

I use Vivaldi a bit on Android, it's good. But my primary on Android is Opera. On desktop, I use Firefox almost exclusively.
Cheers, Vikram.

I would be more inclined to try it if it did not have a mail and calendar. I have no use for those in a browser.

The odds of any "new" program being malware are too high me to consider something that is not absolutely necessary.

It's not very new. Been using it for several years and like it. When I pay attention to it, I always find it has far better memory usage than Firefox. And the built-in mouse gestures are fantastic, because you can close pages before they load, unlike Firefox (or at least the extension I used in it). The tab stacking is also really useful sometimes, as is the ability to save and restore sessions. (And 'sessions' aren't an all-or-nothing proposition - you can open a saved session in a new window and keep the old window going.) Sessions may be available in other browsers, I haven't checked but don't recall it. The only downfall I've seen is it does a piss poor job of printing web pages. I just open them in Firefox for that job, when I seldom need it.

I mostly use curl for my browsing hacking.

I am using it now - it is my main browser. Likes: It is Chrome, able to use most Chrome add-ons/extensions. It has a bookmarks panel, downloads panel etc (like Firefox, my previous browser of choice which has stopped working with quite a few sites now). Sync seems to work well - something else that Firefox used to be good at but which now is unreliable. Private mode works well. Dislikes: it is Chrome so tends to - occasionally - use all available compute power to play some pop-up or other etc, but UBlock takes care of most of that. Lack of diversity in browser engines is not good for the community as a whole, but you need the compatability (remember how many sites would only work with IE?).

Oh, and I should add that I have tried umpteen browsers over the years - some are/were trojans, like Brave, others - despite being chrome based - are often not really compatible. Some, like Opera, still struggle with compatibility even after changing engines.

I was perhaps a little harsh, but Brave has certainly had its moments: https://ethr.medium.com/stop-using-brave-browser-now-1d8b6afcb609[^] or Brave browser: The bad and the ugly | ZDNet[^] No browser is perfect, but I think the 'preferential' treatment Brave gave to itself (re it's internal credit system) rather spoils it for me. This is the kind of thing you switch away from the likes of Edge, IE etc to avoid.

Ok I knew about those, for me it's not an issue. I don't care about bitcoins, I don't click on ads. On Android it's easy on the battery and data consumption, on PC it helps masking site ads without triggering the AdBlock revealers on the target sites. It's also quite easy on the RAM, though I prefer Firefox I didn't install it on my newest PC for now - FF has some nifty plugins though.

I developed a PHP web page that helps me track the time I spend on projects and bill it to my customers. Using that web page on Edge was super slow (at least 2 seconds waiting after each click), using Vivaldi was super fast. That made me have it installed to use my web page. This said, some months ago, an Edge update made that browser as fast as Vivladi with my page, so I uninstalled it and now I use only Edge. It did what it was supposed to do and faster than what I used as my daily driver, but now it has no sense for me.
