Do you play video games in your spare time?

Curious, I've discovered that quite a few members here play video games when they are not writing code. Some of you even design game mods. What games are you playing in your spare time?
Mech Warrior Online (MWO) Free to play where fremium isn't pay to win. Team based game with amazing matches when player actually act like a team. Team Fortress 2 (hilarious .wav taunts!) Baldur's Gate (BIG GAME!) Played a lot of World of Tanks, but prefer World of Warships (aka world's slowest first person shooter!) Have a love/hate relationship with War Thunder.

Yep. I've got over 200 in my Steam account. I don't watch TV so I almost always play for a few hours daily (more now that I'm retired).

Can't belive yours is the only mention of Age of Empires. I was too young to play AoE1 so I started off with AoE2 and then AoM and AoE3. I bought all the definitive editions on Steam and am now trying out AoE4 on Gamepass but will probably wait for a deep discount before buying it on Steam. You?
Cheers, Vikram.
Played all version and all re-issues. Also waiting for discount on AOE4 (and huge at 138 GB or something) There's still good activity on (free) multi-user AOE III, etc.

That's alot of games! What happens to your digital property if the company goes under? Digital property is governed by contracts. I've always preferred physical copies. Best Wishes, -David Delaune
A lot of the games I have are not games I would replay. For the games that I would replay, I've been slowly getting copies from GOG where you can get the offline install files. I just wait for a good sale (80-90% off) on GOG. I've picked up older games for as low as $2. Also, I'm not really worried about Steam at this time. Origin and Ubisoft are a different matter.

Do you know about Wordle?
I played it for the first time this morning. It's simple, but also requires a certain amount of logic and strategy. I guess it's a hangman variant - sort of? As someone whose only gaming activity is Words With Friends, it appeals to me. Pretty cool.

Yes, as I am 16, some people would say it is my life. But I only play when I have time... Which is rare...

I don't think AoE4 is 138 GB though, Steam says 50 GB. I have never played multiplayer though, only against the computer. I just happen to like the game, I'm not actually good at it :-D
Cheers, Vikram.

It's Grand Theft Auto V for me. Exclusively. I've played the story mode maybe 3 times before getting tired of it. I was never an online gamer, given I always got my @ss handed to me by 12-year olds who have nothing better to do than play games endlessly in their free time. It's only within the last 3 years or so that I've looked at the game's online component. This time around...it stuck. It's my understanding that the online portion of GTA was originally terrible, but it had gone over many refinements by the time I started playing it...so there was plenty for a newcomer to do. There's griefers, there's modders, but I still get enough enjoyment out of the game to put up with it. As a kid and until my early 30s, I was a huge gamer...then I quit cold turkey for maybe 10-15 years. Except I always made an exception for new entries in the GTA franchise. And like I said, I even stopped playing the latest for a number of years after having gone over the story mode a few times. The online mode still captures my interest enough so that, after 3+ years, I'm nearing a billion dollars (honestly earned money, no cheats) and have set a goal of reaching that. But my interest is slowly waning, and I suspect that once I've achieved that goal, I won't play it nearly as often. GTAO *is* the only game I play, but if I lose interest, I may switch over to Red Dead Redemption 2. I'm not sure if I'll have to upgrade my hardware for that however - it's a bad time to be looking into video card replacements. And if I stop playing GTAO and I don't get into RDR2? I'll probably be out of the gaming world altogether once again. Which might not be a bad thing.
