Beantown - Boston Windy City - Chicago Big D - Dallas Big Apple - New York City Twin Cities - St. Paul and Minneapolis Live Music Capital of the World - Austin Beer City - Milwaukee I know these via other sources: (TV/..) City of Angles - LA Big Easy - New Orleans Motown/Motor City - Detroit Music City - Nashville (I'm not sure) Anybody know nicknames for other US cities.

                  Nope, it's Portland. Check it: http://www.digital-web.com/portland/[^] Pasadena is a Johnny-Come-Lately pretender to the name. Never mind that Pasadena was founded with the building of the Mission in 1771 and Portland wasn't really founded until 1845. :)

                                Although I've never heard of Portland being called the "Rose City" I don't doubt that it is and Pasadena is not. I was just yanking his chain, but apparently he didn't notice the :rolleyes:.

                                        Back a while, there was a problem with a bug called a medfly, so they quarantined San Francisco. Signs were put up outside the city which said "No fruits or nuts allowed beyond this point." I always figured that was why there seemed to be such large concentration of fruits and nuts in the bay area. 'til next we type... HAVE FUN!! -- Jesse
