It's OK for Portrait mode, but it looks odd in landscape to me - too much white space on the left and right. Since I mostly run CP on my Portrait monitor, it's not a problem, but I'm unusual in having the choice, I think. What do you guys think?

The normal paradigm has been menus on the left, so on the right is weird. Also feels kinda squished. Maybe there's a rational explanation for the change?

I’ve given up trying to be calm. However, I am open to feeling slightly less agitated.

Wow! This must have happened during my 2 hour torture session. (phone call with the sr. partner and a client) Right now, I'm not liking it. IMHO, navigation links should be on the left. I suppose I can get used to it though.

Yeah, yuck. At least expand the width of the forum to the width of my screen (landscape mode) + accounting for the stuff on the right.

The main menu is on the right side now, instead of the left. Other than that, nothing major to complain about. My usual layout is "fixed" and that seems fine so far.

Oh that's interesting. I hadn't realized that - it looks unbalanced now. Menus should be on the left. :-D

To my mind the left edge is the logical place for the forum tree.

Until a couple of weeks ago all colors were muddy and matte but after today both eyes have had Cataract surgery and the colors are so vivid and the whites so white, it's given me a whole new outlook on life.

I didn't even notice it had changed until your post. Even then I had to look at it for several minutes before I realized the nav tree had moved to the right side. In my defense, your phrase "new look" had me expecting a major difference in the whole theme, so I spent a few moments hitting Ctrl-F5 and looking around for a "sneak peek at our new look" link.

I just got my right eye done today so it's going to be a couple of weeks before I can get out with my camera but am really looking forward to it. In the past everything was fuzzy and dull, with the lenses they installed and cataracts removed things should be more in focus and colorful. In the past I had to rely on the camera, which is not all bad it's a D850 but there's so much more I want to do with it.

It's still narrow and the forums are on the right. But even more importantly, the formatting toolbar is missing, at least when writing a Lounge post.

"It" being the width of the forum messages / main panel? Matthew fixed the missing format bar.

CTRL+F5 makes no difference. This message text box looks Ok though.

Yes, the width of those things. Or am I just being fooled because the layout has flipped? I see that the format bar has returned.

The RHS was 160px, it's now 300px. The LHS was 170px. It's now 0. There's about 20px os extra space added between the forums and the RHS. That means the net change is about 10px wider forums that had a RH bar (eg Bugs and Suggs) and a 150px reduction in width for forums that didn't have a RH bar (eg the Lounge). We can tweak.

It's OK for Portrait mode, but it looks odd in landscape to me - too much white space on the left and right. Since I mostly run CP on my Portrait monitor, it's not a problem, but I'm unusual in having the choice, I think. What do you guys think?

I'm hoping this is just another brief glitch.

I'm sure I'll get used to it. I don't need to be part of the focus group. :)

Are you suggesting you're of that mythical breed of a Software Developer without an opinion? ;) Any and all feedback is good.

                                        cheers Chris Maunder

Until a couple of weeks ago all colors were muddy and matte but after today both eyes have had Cataract surgery and the colors are so vivid and the whites so white, it's given me a whole new outlook on life.

I'm delighted to hear that the surgery went well, Mike! :-D
