Afternoon ladies and gents. Haven't been in the lounge in a while, and am back with a question. I'm wanting to register a domain and was wondering if GoDaddy is still the best out there?

GoDaddy has gone downhill in my opinion. I have found NameCheap.com to be a useful, vanilla, domain registrar. I have used them for years with no problems.

I use Google Domains, domains.google.com They are cheap ($12/yr for most domains), fast, simple & you can control everything you need. Also they don't bug you with spam email & mailers.

I've used both register.com and godaddy. Not much difference between them.

I use Network Solutions. They are not expensive and they even called me when my registration was about to expire.

I have been using Google Domains for some time as well. Much cheaper than my previous provider https://www.123-reg.co.uk/[^]. +1 for Google Domains

Gandi.net They are in the EU. Reasonable price and they don’t respond to American FISA , Patriot Act warrants. Seems we have to rely on the French to protect us from these unconstitutional abridgments of privacy. Reasonable SSL certificate prices too.

Cloudflare. Zero price markup. (They don't do all TLDs yet, but most.) Otherwise Namecheap. (Then transfer to Cloudflare when possible.)

I have been switching from GoDaddy to AWS as my domains come up for renewal. A flat $12/year, no introductory offers. It seems almost all the alternatives other than Google (also $12/year) offer these intro offers, then escalating prices to around $18 after the first year.

I use dynadot, they are cheaper than anything else that I have found, and I host with qth. While qth is small, they are very responsive and very cheap.

I usually use netnerd.com. Not as cheap as namecheap, but unlimited storage and email addresses. Responsive to service queries, usually responding within the hour (though I haven't submitted a ticket between midnight and 5am yet).
