Has anyone got any suggestions for good project tracking software that they have used. A group of people have joined the department that are not too technical(so source safe is out), but need to track projects for thier clients, as well as store requirements docs and the like. Being able to catagorise projects would help. Cheap or free would be a bonus. With source code better still to adapt for internal needs. I'm trying to make them realise that there are things better than the hunk 'o' s£%t that they are planning to use. Please save me! Giles Forster

We use MS project for project tracking, and sourcesafe for code, I don't think there's anything easier than sourcesafe? Another one is PVCS tracker/version manager. I think CVS is free you may like to look at that.

Like Rob said, CVS is free, and it's open source, too. http://www.cvshome.org Jon Sagara Sagara Software

Try FreeVCS. I just downloaded it the other day and it looks pretty good so far. Josh josh@that-guy.net

CVS isn't a project management system. It's revision control. Microsoft Project is Project Management.
